The Poppy comes in a number of colorful flowers, typically with on per stem. Poppies grow as wildflowers and are cultivated. In The Wonderful Wizard of Oz the magical poppy fields where dangerous to those who passed through them as the poppy flowers could cause them to sleep forever.
