Some Phlox species flower in early spring while others flower in summer and into fall. The majority of the species are native to temperate North America but a few species are also from northern Asia. These flowers are found growing a diversity of habitats from mountains to open woodlands and prairies. This picture is of a Purple Creeping Phlox.
